Acquisition Brings Together Leading Youth Sports Management Platform and the Industry Leader in Sports Background Screening and Safety Solutions

New York, NY – July 8, 2026LeagueApps, a leading youth sports management platform, today announced the acquisition of the National Center for Safety Initiatives (NCSI), the premier provider of in-depth background checks and comprehensive safety services for youth sports organizations in the United States. NCSI is the only provider named in United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) policy and has partnered with the country’s National Governing Bodies (NGBs) and leading sports organizations for more than 20 years to protect young athletes and the communities they play in.

The acquisition represents the next step in LeagueApps’ strategy to deliver a comprehensive management platform for youth sports organizations. LeagueApps currently powers thousands of organizations across all team sports — from local clubs and leagues to professional properties including MLB, the NBA, the NHL, and the PLL. The addition of NCSI brings safety and compliance into the platform, connecting the places where kids play to the systems designed to protect them.

Managing safety and compliance is foundational to how every youth sports organization operates. With NCSI, LeagueApps expands its solution set at that foundation, giving organizations of every size the services they need to build programs their communities can trust.

NCSI will operate as a separate division within LeagueApps, with its leadership team, customer relationships, and operations intact. The acquisition brings dedicated investment to NCSI’s technology roadmap and service capabilities — while preserving the service standard and trust that have made NCSI the partner of choice for governing bodies across the USOPC movement and beyond.

Jeremy Goldberg, President and Co-Founder of LeagueApps, said “At LeagueApps, we have always believed that the full potential of sport — the growth, the confidence, the friendships, the lessons that last a lifetime — only becomes available when young people are safe. That has been our conviction from the beginning, and it is what drove this decision. The organizations we serve care deeply about safety. What they lack is infrastructure to act on that care: background screening, compliance, and safety requirements are fragmented across systems with no common thread connecting them. Youth sports can be safer — and we believe the path there starts with making it easier for every organization to do the right thing. That is what LeagueApps and NCSI are committed to building.”

Founded in 2003, NCSI has built the most trusted name in background screening and compliance for youth sports, serving approximately 50 national governing bodies, the USOPC, and thousands of sports organizations nationwide. With the support of LeagueApps, NCSI will invest in expanding its capabilities, building on more than two decades of innovation in screening, compliance, and the tools organizations rely on to protect young athletes.

“NCSI has spent more than two decades earning the trust of the organizations and governing bodies that shape how young people experience sport in this country,” said Brian Litvack, CEO and Co-Founder of LeagueApps. “Our responsibility is to protect its mission and to build on it. Making youth sports safer requires working at every level simultaneously: from the bottom up, making it easier for operators of every size to manage the workflows that keep their organizations safe; from the top down, partnering with governing bodies to strengthen the standards that protect athletes across the entire ecosystem. Technology and data are what connect both levels. That is what this partnership is here to invest in.”

Kate Quattlebaum, VP, Safety at NCSI, said, “For more than twenty years, NCSI has operated with a singular focus: ensuring that every organization we serve has the tools, the processes, and the support to fulfill their safety obligations and build programs their communities can trust. We have built that work alongside the USOPC, NGBs, and the organizations that trust us with something that matters — and we are proud of what we have created together. LeagueApps shares our commitment to that mission, and they bring the platform, the reach, and the investment mindset that will allow NCSI to serve more organizations, more deeply, in this next chapter. Our customers will experience continuity in everything they depend on, and over time, real enhancements to what we are able to deliver.”

LeagueApps and NCSI will continue to invest in the safety and compliance ecosystem through their technology platform and services, as well as integration with key technology partners. Beyond its solutions, LeagueApps is also committed to working with NCSI to elevate the focus of safety in NextUp, youth sports industry’s leading professional development community, as well as through FundPlay Foundation, an independent 501c3 launched out of LeagueApps to provide technology, resources and capacity building to leading youth sports-based development nonprofits.

As a first expression of that commitment, LeagueApps and NCSI will help underwrite background screening checks to organizations receiving grants through FundPlay Foundation — ensuring that every program, regardless of size or resources, has access to the background screening and safety services every organization deserves.

Lazard acted as exclusive financial advisor to Versant Media Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: VSNT) in the sale of NCSI to LeagueApps.
