Our LeagueApps Live interactive series aims to educate and connect our youth sports audience. At the heart of our process is the recruitment of leading experts and innovators as guests.
This week we welcomed Steven Mahon of SportsRecruits to discuss the modern college recruiting landscape and technology’s role in youth sports. To listen to the episode in its entirety, scroll to the bottom of this page and click on the webinar graphic.
Recruiting as a process can be intimidating and complicated. SportsRecruits works to reduce parental and player stress by creating a simple roadmap equipped with tools and resources to carry out tasks in an organized way. Similar to LeagueApps, SportsRecruits utilizes technology and uses it very thoughtfully to streamline their work and reach more athletes. Technology has become an absolute necessity in the recruiting landscape. College coaches are in on the trend, “nine out of ten coaches are using technology to evaluate student-athletes, 92% consider film an integral part of their recruiting process, and almost 80% of coaches are using a recruiting platform to find athletes.”
Although the recruiting landscape has changed drastically in the last few decades, college coaches still want to hear directly from student-athletes and coaches. SportsRecruits is structured to educate and empower athletes so they can create these personal connections on their own. The customer success team at SportsRecruits aims to reach everyone in the athlete’s life. The end result is that coaches and staff members are kept in the loop, while simultaneously educating and supporting parents on their role.
SportsRecruits set themselves apart from competitors by bringing efficiency and simplicity to college recruiting. Highlights have continued to be very effective in the recruiting process, and have therefore become a focal point for the company. SportsRecruits created a Highlight Reel Editor on the platform, making it possible for all athletes on their platform to have skills footage. Similar to LeagueApps, SportsRectuits treats your private data with the utmost sensitivity. Personal data security is a high priority to all of their users, therefore, everything from transcripts to contact information is protected and never sold to third parties or exploited.
Video is essential in the #collegerecruiting process. College coaches are much more likely to respond to your message if you have video on your SportsRecruits profile. This week’s episode comes on the heels of the integration between LeagueApps and SportsRecruits. Importing LeagueApps rosters into SportsRecruit is now seamless. We know a lot of our partners ultimately want to get their boys or girls college athletic scholarships. It’s exciting for us to work with a company that addresses this need and shares similar values.
