With #NextUp2019 now in the books, we reflect on an action-packed slate of dynamic speakers, panels and discussions. If you missed a single moment of our youth sports conference, we have you covered with wire-to-wire recaps. In addition, we’ll be re-airing many of the keynote sessions as part of our NextUp Webinar Series, which begins on Friday, November 22. The first set of episodes have been announced and links to RSVP are included below.

Why Sports Matter

Our first panel featured a conversation among Tiki Barber, Swin Cash, and Rich Kleiman, with Cari Champion moderating. Barber, a former Pro Bowl running back and ten year NFL veteran, discussed the importance of coaching and how instrumental youth sports were in his upbringing. Swin Cash, a three-time WNBA champion, now serves as Vice President of basketball operations for the New Orleans Pelicans. Cash believes it’s important for any youth organizer to really understand their “why” before investing time and money in the industry. And finally, Rich Kleiman, Kevin Durant’s manager, shared his youth sports memories and why he believes that coaches are the lifeblood of a childhood sports experience.

The Formula for Organizational Success

Francis Anzalone was shot straight out of a canon onto our main stage. His presentation took on the feel of a pregame speech that had everyone in the audience ready to run through a wall for him.
