What is LeagueApps?

LeagueApps is recreational sports league management software. It has been developed specifically for local recreational sports leagues. LeagueApps is easy to use, intuitive, and web-based. You don't need to download or install any new software. All you need is a web browser and an internet connection.

  1. Is LeagueApps for me?

    LeagueApps is for any type of recreational sports league organizer. LeagueApps allows rec league organizers to more efficiently manage and organize their business through a suite of applications. Sports leagues organizers need an easy way to manage their organization and LeagueApps is it.

  2. How long does it take to set up an account?

    About 2 minutes to create your account, and only a few hours for an organization to fully complete a basic account setup. If you would like to process payments and do not already have a merchant account, it can take a few days to get your merchant account setup.

  3. How long have you been in business?

    LeagueApps is brought to you by the same team that created, the largest social network for recreational athletes which was founded in 2005. We currently have offices in New York City and Northern Virginia.

  4. Will my league also be promoted on

    Yes (but only if you want us to, of course). All LeagueApps partners will be preferred promotional partners on Sportsvite. We'll highlight your league profile in the league directory, and can develop a marketing plan to help your league recruit new players through the Sportsvite community.

  1. How much does it cost to sign up for LeagueApps?

    Creating an account is absolutely free! There are no upfront costs, and you can use the basic LeagueApps features for free as well.

  2. Are there are any contracts or subscriptions?

    Nope, never. You can come and go as you please.

  3. Okay, so then what fees are there? How do you make money?

    Currently, LeagueApps only charges fees for transactions processed through the platform. We'll charge your organization a small % of your online registration net volume (note: your payment gateway fees are separate), depending on your total volume. And, all your payments are directly deposited into your merchant account first and then LeagueApps will send a monthly invoice to your organization. For more information, visit our pricing page.

  4. Do I have to change my leagues fee structure?

    No. LeagueApps accommodates customized fee structures to fit the specific needs of your organization. You can have multiple fees, discounts, and can customize the registration process that your members experience.

  6. How do I start processing online payments?

    In order to start processing online payments, you'll need to choose from one of our supported payment gateways. We currently support three options that cater to different needs. Learn more here.

  7. What is a "Merchant Account", and why do I need one?

    A Merchant Account is a type of bank account that is set up to allow your organization to accept credit cards. In order to accept online payments through LeagueApps, you must have a merchant account that is compatible with our system. If your club does not have a merchant account, we can help you obtain one.   8. What is a "Payment Gateway", and why do I need one?

    A Payment Gateway is an external service that enables a merchant website (e.g., a sports club website powered by LeagueApps) to securely connect to a "Merchant Account", and send credit card transactions. LeagueApps supports a few different payment gateways, including and PayPal.

  9. If using PayPal as my gateway, what type of PayPal account do I need?

    If you choose PayPal as your payment gateway, you'll need a PayPal Business account in order to receive payments through our online registration system. LeagueApps supports three types of PayPal Business accounts: Website Payments Advanced and Website Payments Pro come bundled with a new merchant account, while their Payflow Pro product utilizes your own existing merchant account if you already have one.

    None at all. LeagueApps is web-based software, so all you need is a web browser.

  2. How much technical knowledge do I need? Is it complicated?

    The LeagueApps platform is designed so that anybody can fully manage their account. The management console is similar to your setting up a blog or Facebook account.

  3. Will my data be backed up and kept safe?

    All of your data is automatically backed up twice daily, and stored in multiple off-site backup locations. This all happens automatically so you don't have to worry about it. You'll never have to store paper documents or install any updates. It's worry-free!

    Yes! You have complete control over your site's colors, fonts, logo, and background, through our simple and easy theme editor. No design skills required!

  2. Do you offer custom design services?

    If you want to customize your design even beyond what the theme editor allows, we can create an advanced custom design for your site. Let us know what you want to do.

  3. I already have a website. Can I integrate your features with my existing website?

    Yes. LeagueApps features can be directly integrated within your current web solution. This is done by including simple Javascript-based App Widgets into your existing site pages.

  4. Will you help us with setup and migrating our data?

    Once you setup your account, you'll have all the tools you need to do any integration or migration tasks yourself. However, we also take an active role in helping you get your account fully customized and your member data imported. You can easily import your entire email database into LeagueApps, or manually add members, teams and players.

  5. What if my league needs custom features?

    LeagueApps is constantly releasing feature enhancements and new features based on league partner feedback. We prioritize development based on league partner needs. If your league has an unusual request, we'd love to hear about it and figure out if there is a way we can help you make it happen.

  1. How does advertising work on LeagueApps? Will you sell ads for us?

    LeagueApps is subsidized by a professional sponsorship and advertising program. This helps us keep our costs to league partners low. We try to work with relevant and appropriate advertisers that are unobtrusive to your league and your members.

  2. Can I place my own ads on my LeagueApps site?

    Of course. If you prefer, you can sell sponsorship and advertising space for your organization and keep 100% of the profits.

  1. Will you sell my contact information to third parties?

    No way Jose! We understand how important your members' privacy is to you, and to them. LeagueApps will never sell your contact information without your explicit consent. The member data that is entered on your organization's site is your data and is owned by you.

  2. So my data is totally safe and secure?

    All of your members personal data is protected. LeagueApps servers and databases are housed in a world class hosting facility, and are behind several firewalls and security mechanisms. LeagueApps uses 128 bit encryption SSL when processing payments, and does not store any credit card information.

  3. Can you provide me with references?

    Sure. We want you to feel comfortable and will gladly share contact information for some of our current league partners. We're confident they will give a favorable reference. Let us know what you'd like to know, and for which type of league, and we will get you any information you need.
