The Harlem Lacrosse and Leadership program is a non-profit organization that builds leadership skills and social responsibility. It was formed in 2011 to create a “holistic youth services organization around lacrosse.”

The young lacrosse athletes got a big surprise during practice on Tuesday, and it wasn’t just some of the LeagueApps team hanging out. Denver Outlaw midfielder and LeagueApps partner Drew Snider showed up to surprise the young lacrosse players from New York.

Drew is the owner of CitySide Lax, a lacrosse teaching and development organization based in the Pacific Northwest. CitySide has been a LeagueApps partner for over two years.

Drew will have his hands full this weekend as his Denver Outlaws play in Atlanta for the Major League Lacrosse championship.

Even with his busy schedule, he was able to fit in some quality time with the LeagueApps Lax team and help teach some techniques.

“It’s really great to see what they’re doing here. Everything they’ve been creating and what they’re implementing, it’s truly inspiring,” Drew said.

The arrival of an MLL star didn’t faze any of the kids’ focus and determination. All eyes and ears were on Drew when he spoke.

Drew is enthusiastic about the opportunity to help non-profit organizations like Harlem Lacrosse expand the sport’s reach. “It was really exciting to be a part of this. I’m really a big fan of what Harlem Lacrosse is doing and want to help in any way I can.”
